LaboDesign In China

Designed by chinese in China

Who is LaboDesign ?

Shadows, details, innovation, materials…

The “made in China” period is finished. China is not anymore a copy-paste state, is not only the second economy on the world but China wants also to show her creativity, credibility for innovation and gives rise to a young designer generation with strong knowledge and deep believes.

LaboDesign is an ephemeral collection mix of Chinese designers who wants to share and expose their know-how.

Claire exposes her choices in Beijing to make you discover these new emerging talents and offers you  a moment store where designers can meet and create their own dialogue through the material to put forwards their talent and transmit ancestors tradition.

By My Little Chic Emily & Julie

Emily Cheng and Julie Hou inspired by reading, playing and bonding with their children, the designers wanted to create a children environment as inspiring as music and as beautiful as poetry, therefore they decided to establish their own children’s furniture brand -Little Chic. Using original Chinese material - aged Elm wood which is collected from old houses in China. The wood is carefully treated and handcrafted into a fine miniature Ming style furniture with a twist of children’s taste. The designers wanted to recycle something old and renew .

Wood is one of the oldest kind of natural material. In the slow growth, it engraves the annual ring and exposes enchanting veins to command respect. After becoming material, wood does not stop its “growth”. Instead, it turns into creaking floors or quiet furniture to accompany us in our life, leave traces of life and form a unique character.

I create furniture by using wood as material and a simple and pure design. For me, such a design can best express the nobility and excellence of furniture. I expect to make furniture lasting for long with the purest materials and form.
